About Me

My name is Tyler Shiner.  I was born and raised right here in Vernal, UT.

My dream of owning my own dental practice became a reality in August of 2008, when Advanced Dental opened its doors for the first time.  Since that time, we’ve been fortunate to have our practice flourish.  Our great patients and fantastic staff have made this happen. 

I graduated in 1996 from Uintah High School.  After serving a mission in the Ecuador Quito Mission, the girl next door and I fell in love and got married.  Marilee Nokes Shiner and I started the difficult journey of getting our education.  I graduated in 2003 from Utah State University with a BS in Biology.  Baltimore, MD would be our next home for four more years as we attended the Baltimore College of Dental Surgery, University of Maryland Dental school.  I decided that since we would be living in a wonderfully isolated town far away from dental specialists, we decided that getting more training would be a great idea.  We moved to Salt Lake City, UT where I would work at the VA hospital as a dental resident for one more year.  This is where I got many more valuable skills that have helped me to provide better care for my patients.  I learned how to place dental implants, remove third molars (wisdom teeth), administer IV sedation, and many more things. 

My wife and I have four beautiful children and are expecting our fifth in November.
